Internet Technologies is a large area encompassing a wide range of technologies

Internet Technologies is a generic term that describes the large body of technologies and systems that have evolved from the original internet protocol or ip based technologies. Communications, networking and messaging are all part of this.

Internet Technologies began with internet protocol and the web provided a graphic driven browser that fueled communication and publishing of information which is today very sophisticated and termed new media. Internet technologies also includes the hardware, networking and communications backbone of the intrernet, the various protocols and software that power the internet and keep it secure and the various applications that ride on these technologies including messaging, collaboration, databases, virtualisation and clustering technologies. Internet technologies are expanding and getting more advanced all the time and today offer high volume, robust and secure global infrastructure. Multimedia and higher powered data transmissions are the next era of internet technologies as the number of people on the internet is bursting with rapid expansion.
