As cloud computing and virtualization expand data centers are at the heart of action

Data Centers are at the heart of action as enterprises realise the need to outsource their hosting and data management into specialised secure, reliable and high performance infrastructural operations.

Cloud computing and virtualization are intensifying this trend with there being a larger need for globally networked servers and systems. The explosion in usage, network traffic, applications and data requires a large expansion on data center capacity and reliability. Enterprises are now seeing data centers as an activity and business by themselves and are increasingly outsourcing their data centers to specialized service providers. Cloud computing pioneers and the internet giants are expanding their server and data center footprint with larger and more powerful data centers that are being setup around the world to provide near distance connectivity and lower latency. Data centers are at the core of the explosion that we will see in the next few years as mobile computing, online gaming and entertainment, enterprise computing and social networking expand. This is where a lot of entrepreneurs see immense growth possibilities and the telcos who hold the key with bandwidth and data pipes are also expanding their activity and operations into integrated data and communication hubs.
